Beginning with a stomach churning incident of repellent violence, the story follows ‘The 5’ as they try to survive and thrive in the wilderness of recession devastated Britain – but on their terms.

An epic story unfolds in a series of ‘Snapshots’ that slowly introduce a complex tale and rich web of characters that initially seem unrelated but are progressively demonstrated to be far more inter-related than they appear to be. Like an intricate jigsaw puzzle, ‘Revolutionaries’ builds a narrative charting murder, violence, music, sex, style and humour that demands to be read and solved by piecing together the scattered clues from diverse sources and viewpoints in a collapsing urban landscape that could be yesterday, today or tomorrow.

Synchronised to the rise of the ‘Lost Generation’ of the ‘Punk era, the novel uses ‘The 5’ as the lynchpin axis in a big wheel of intrigue and adolescent experimentation within a world of changing rules. A sophisticated complex of characters gravitate towards and become involved with the central characters as the oblique strands of the ongoing mysteries become explained by the climactic finale – but for every answer there are still many questions remaining.
